| Carnes’
Log Cabins opened almost 12 years ago by Yvonne and Richard Carnes, a local
couple who grew in this peaceful valley and who‘s heritage is a part of the
Smokies and Cades Cove. The styling and settings of their cabins reflected
this tie to nature and the outdoors.
They have decided to take
a break from the cabin rental business, and their cabins have become part of
the newly formed Tremont Outdoor Resort. As in the past, this will continue
to be a family-run operation.
Please allow me to
introduce myself as the new owner. My name is Wilson Reynolds, and I am an
avid outdoorsman. I’ve been fortunate enough to spend the last 35+ years
hunting, fishing, and guiding in the great outdoors from Virginia to
Alaska. Naturally, this also put me in a great position to explore an
interest in nature photography, which has blossomed into a professional
career. My life’s dream has been to be able to share and inspire an
interest in the outdoors with others. I now consider myself blessed to be
able to live part of that dream by providing accommodations and teaching
nature photography to those who are visiting the Great Smoky Mountains.
I’ve been in the
outdoor resort industry for 28 years, including owning and operating family
resorts in Rustburg and Williamsburg, Virginia; Chestertown, Maryland;
Jackson Hole and Cody, Wyoming. In addition to that, I own and operate a
successful resort property management company in Ocean City, Maryland. As
you can see, I have way too much experience in the hospitality business, but
I’ll do my best to use that experience to make your stay with us as
enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Tremont Outdoor Resort,
our main facility, is located one mile from the cabins. Should you decide
to book a future reservation with us, this is where you will check-in and
have access (if you choose) to an Olympic-size outdoor pool, game room, and
general store, as well as access to the Little River. Improvements and
upgrades have been made to the cabins, including the addition of wireless
hi-speed internet, but the cozy national park atmosphere has been preserved
at your front porch.
We hope you’ll consider
our resort as part of any future mountain retreat you may be planning. For
reservations, please call 800-448-6373. My staff and I look forward to
hearing from you soon.
At Carnes’ Log Cabins,
you’ll enjoy privacy, comfort, and convenience in a secluded, wooded
setting. Our cabins are nestled in a small mountain hollow in the heart of
Townsend, Tennessee, the most laid-back and relaxing community in the Great
Smoky Mountains. Just one mile from your cabin door lies the entrance to the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You’ll enjoy a quiet setting with
beautiful scenery and plenty of things to do.
All of our cabins are
newly constructed and feature modern conveniences with rustic charm. We can
provide you with a Smoky Mountain family vacation, a romantic honeymoon, or
a perfect mountain getaway for some rest and relaxation. From the comfort of
your rocking chairs on the front porch to your own private hot tub, your
vacation enjoyment is our pleasure. |
